Bank branches close today while digital channels remain available
An October 29 ABM notice confirms the November 2 banking holiday. Branches inside shops and supermarkets keep their usual hours.
Context
ATMs, banking correspondents, digital banking and telephone services remain available. ABM says payment deadlines falling on a nonbusiness day move to the next business day.
Why it matters
The practical distinction is access channel, not a blanket shutdown of banking. Businesses needing counter service should plan separately from those using digital banking.

Lower debt-service costs ease Mexico’s fiscal pressure
La Jornada reports on November 2 that January to September debt-service spending was 159,350.8 million pesos below budget, citing Hacienda.
Context
Debt-service costs fell 3.7% year on year in real terms. Hacienda attributes the relief to peso appreciation, interest-rate conditions and refinancing.
Why it matters
This improves the near-term budget balance, but does not establish a permanent fiscal improvement. BBVA warns that limited budget flexibility still complicates debt stabilisation.

Context
INEGI measured annual headline inflation at 3.62% in early October. This is older context, not a new November reading.

Higher sales do not prove more visits.
